About Me
I’m Leah, a student at Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska. My life has been a tapestry of diverse activities, enriching experiences, and continuous learning.
From an early age, I’ve been captivated by the idea of how things work, always eager to ask questions like “how” and “why?” Unlike the stereotypical “pink bow in hair” girl, I found fun in collecting bugs and engaging in mud slides. I’d trail behind my brother, embracing curiosity rather than conforming to conventions. While middle school initially led me to show choir and choir, I came to realize that my true passions resided elsewhere – in the realms of art, encompassing drawing, painting, pottery, and online design. Additionally, I’ve discovered a passion for organization, planning, mathematics, science, engineering, and economics. Recognizing these passions has empowered me to acknowledge my diverse abilities.
My life has been a medley of sports and experiences, thanks to my parents’ belief in exploring every avenue. This philosophy has also guided us on travels across the nation. I’ve engaged in swim team, volleyball, basketball, track, soccer, triathlons, dance, and softball. These endeavors, combined with my global adventures, have provided me with profound insights into the intricate workings of our world. A formative experience in 4th grade involved backpacking and camping across Glacier National Park, The Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone for two transformative weeks. This journey ignited my profound appreciation for our planet’s beauty, a sentiment further nurtured by visits to iconic cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. These explorations have significantly molded my perspective, leading me to perceive the world with renewed inspiration. My travels have reaffirmed my belief in my potential to achieve any goal I set my mind to.
My passions are anchored in resolving critical issues, particularly those concerning the environment, the economy, engineering, design, and the overall design process, while also extending a helping hand to others.
